In the heart of Brenne, the land of a thousand lakes, Azay-le-Ferron invites visitors to enjoy its topiary garden with its decorative figures sculpted out of plants and representing animals, geometric shapes or scenes. There are yew trees placed like pieces on a chessboard, some of them in the shape of a tower or a balloon. A few steps take you into the flower garden dotted with large pruned magnolias and surrounded by yew hedges.
At the far end of the grounds, there is a curious circular basin with cool waters, while a whole host of fruit awaits in the orchard conservatory, with its apple, pear, plum, cherry and medlar trees...
